Fix the Gemini Alt + Space shortcut conflict

Resolve Gemini's Alt + Space conflict with PowerToys Run, Copilot, and the Windows system menu.

Gemini uses Alt + Space to open over your current window. That combination is also used by the classic Windows window menu and is a common default for PowerToys Run and Copilot, so one app can intercept it.

The clean fix

  1. Decide which app should keep Alt + Space.
  2. Open Gemini's settings and assign a different shortcut, or change the activation shortcut in the competing app.
  3. Quit and reopen both apps so Windows registers the new combination.
  4. Test the keys while another window is active.

Choose a combination you do not already use. Avoid overriding accessibility or language-switching shortcuts.
